Test Notes:
※ Standard packaging features interior artwork and a booklet. 'Cheerleader' Edition includes a collector's box, 2-disc soundtrack, art-book, "Nick Carlisle's Head" key-chain, "San Romeo Knights High School" metal coin and "Juliet Starling" 10" statue.
-- Any technical faults found in the original version (ex. stiff animations, stretched textures, etc.), together with other shortcomings in the porting process (ex. low-resolution 2D cutscenes / loading screens, etc.), have been retained within this remastered release.
-- Large framerate drops can occur on very rare occasions, such as knocking over potted plants surrounding select arcade cabinets in the opening area of 'Stage 4: Fulci Fun Center'.
-- Clipping and other collision-related glitches can appear in rare frequency, such as during certain cutscenes (ex. Swan's attire, Juliet's skirt or Nick's chin), alongside odd moments with gameplay, like the low-angle camera hitting against the ground during the optional pole-swinging segment in 'Stage 3: O'Bannon Farm'. Irregular flickering textures, such as the side on one breakable school locker, or pop-in effects after select cutscene shot changes can surface throughout the game.
-- Unsure whether this issue has been retained from the original release, but Juliet can occasionally get caught on peculiar level design geometry throughout gameplay. A notable reference level concerns the 'O'Bannon Farm' where it can happen with ankle-high structures ranging from garden beds, destructible wooden structures and even a few small patches of protruding grass.
-- Incidental dialogue can sometimes overlap with scripted moments of audio during gameplay. Weird parts of audio repeating can happen as well, such as with saved NPC classmates that have very short bits of dialogue or unpausing the game in specific points.
-- At least two instances where the silver coin counter remained on screen during gameplay until scripted moments successfully removed them. It can occasionally block the Chainsaw Blaster combo text that also appears on the left-hand side of the screen.
-- Strangely random moments where Juliet is unable to move while using the Chainsaw Blaster almost like the player is using tank controls. Unequipping and repositioning can sometimes help navigate around the oddity although it can reoccur in the very next attempt.
Content Completed:
-- Completely playable offline with no download required. Beaten on 'Normal' difficulty using 'Original Mode' with the 'Good / Congratulations! Happy Birthday!' ending. All attempted trophies unlocked as necessary. The 'Bad / Horrid Birthday' conclusion, 'RePop' visual mode, 'Very Hard' difficulty and various cosmetic unlockables (ex. attires, MP3 tracks, etc.) were untested for reference.
Additional Notes:
-- Install Size: 13.25 GB
-- Significant content differences are present between this remastered port and the original release. All of the licensed music, except for "Lollipop" by The Chordettes as heard on the in-game shops, has been replaced with original tracks. All licensed costume designs from popular zombie-related anime / manga around the early 2010s (ex. "Highschool of the Dead", "Deadman Wonderland", etc.), including those offered as pre-order bonuses from various feature films (ex. 'Ash Williams' from "The Evil Dead", etc.), are absent and replaced with alternate, more generic designs. 'RePop' mode appears to be stylized after the regional censorship found in the Japanese version that swapped violence with cartoonish, pop-art effects. On the other hand, 'Original' mode strives to maintain the initial presentation with notable changes to the saturated color grade and lighting effects for example. Comic-style illustrations used during character introductions have been greatly downgraded using mostly real-time graphics with minor descriptive text.
-- As a side note, the ESRB PS5 release appears to be one of the weaker offline builds for the remaster. Our PEGI PS5 test shows that version features '1.013.001' on disc while the upcoming ESRB Switch 2 release, as of February 2026, promises to include an exclusive "Gun Shooting Mode" for the platform.

Second playthrough:
Completed the entire story, unlocked the majority of the trophies.
Encountered a couple of game freezes in the prologue mission which resolved themselves after 2-3 seconds. These didn’t happen anywhere else on the game.
There were a couple of instances during missions where Juliet would seemingly get stuck on nothing at all.
Odd occasion where using the chainsaw blaster would prevent Juliet from moving at all and other occasions where there was no issue. Couldn’t replicate this consistently. Just randomly happens for no apparent reason.
Otherwise, it’s a good version on disc.
