Campaign is playable offline with no issues. Arcade mode is playable offline but with a few major downsides. It is impossible to progress through the battle scenarios offline if you do not have a linked EA account on your profile (Not stated anywhere in game but we tested on both a Local account and a PSN account with an EA account linked. Only the PSN account was able to progress offline while the Local account's progress got wiped after completing any scenarios). It is also impossible to progress through challenges without an EA account however you need to be online to claim the rewards regardless. Custom Arcade and Split-Screen both function offline however most weapons except for the starting weapons are locked behind the online mulitplayer progression making them impossible to earn offline. The patches do add more Custom Arcade modes and maps, as well as free campaign DLC.
