There are a few DLCs included with the Switch version however you must go to the online Marketplace to download them. The DLCs are:

⁃ Biome Settlers Skin Pack
⁃ Battle & Beasts Skin Pack
⁃ Campfire Tales Skin Pack
Unlike the other DLCs, the Super Mario Mash Up Pack is included on the cart and can be used offline.
The game can be played solo or with up to 4 players in split screen. While Local Wireless play is also an option, it requires that every player are friends with each other with a Nintendo Account, which requires internet to do.
